Directions & Parking
The Parish of All Saints and English Martrys plays host to two church buildings: All Saints in Hassop, and English Martyrs in
Bakewell. See here for Mass times and venues.
Church of English Martyrs, Bakewell
English Martyrs RC Church (postcode DE45 1DA) is situated in Bakewell, the famous Peak District market town. The church is on
the A6 road to Buxton, a stone's throw (!) from Bath Gardens. Click here for a map.
At 10.00am on the first Sunday in the month we celebrate Mass in Bakewell, where people have to use public car parks (or take the
risk of a fine!).
For the remaining (i.e. most) Sundays in the month, Mass is held at Hassop (see above): during these weekends a Vigil Mass is
held at Bakewell at 6.15pm on the Saturday evening.
Church of All Saints, Hassop
All Saints RC Church (postcode DE45 1NS) is located in Hassop, a small village located two miles from Bakewell. From Bakewell
bridge, take the A619 road to Baslow. After passing Newholme Hospital on your right you will shortly come to a junction on your left.
Take this road, the B6001, to Hathersage. Go straight on at the roundabout, and you should reach the village of Hassop after a mile.
You will approach the south façade of All Saints as the road bends to the right. Click here for a map.
At 10.00am most Sunday mornings Mass is at Hassop, when parishioners and visitors are permitted to park in the main car park of
Hassop Hall Hotel until 11.30am. This greatly helps our parish because parking on the roads can be quite dangerous. Visitors and
parishioners are strongly encouraged to use this facility and we are grateful to the Proprietors for permitting it.
On the first Sunday in the month Mass moves to Bakewell (see below): during these weekends a Vigil Mass is held at Hassop at
6.15pm on the Saturday evening.
